How to use a forum to advertise:

1- Don’t start advertising right away, you will simply be kicked out of the forum and treated as a spammer.

2- Be invested in the forum. Do not just put a few post (sales speech like) about your products, you might be kicked out of the forum again.

3- Establish yourself as an expert. Being an expert will bring trust that will make readers click your link. It will make the reader confident to buy from you because you look like someone that knows what he’s talking about.

4- Don’t push to hard. You signature is not an ad, you are not using PPC in a forum. Just put a nice signature that people will see as an invitation and not as an obligation.

5- Create forum relationship, ask questions, answer question, send private email, make follow up. Keep in touch.

The next step should be testing. Create more than one signature, to test drive which one will work best. Some will work great and some won’t work very good, test and test again till you get the top signature.
