You can create a blog just for ”blogging”, telling others that you feel like this or like that, but if you want to have a blog to earn some cash, you should select a specific niche. What is a niche?

It is a category of products or service you can sell online. Example, dogs, you know dogs, you then select that niche. It means you can sell different kind of food, dog toys or dog training software, etc. Talking about dog will bring people to your blog and they might click on a link of one of your product and you will make a sale.

Step one to find a niche, right down all ideas you have about stuff you know and would like to talk about. Each time you see or read something about one of your ideas, put a check mark. Do it for few days. This will tell you the popularity of some of your choices.

Step two is to select the most popular. These niches are, for now, the most popular: Health and Fitness, Acne, food, Beauty and Skincare. Some like Pets (dog, cat, bird) are less popular, but work steadily since years.

To help you choose your niche, go to http://clickbank.com. At the top of the page you will click on ”marketplace”. On the left side of the page you have several niches. Click on the one that fits your ideas list and check 1- Grav (gravity) 2- %/refd (that is the percentage of sales made by affiliates).

The first ones should be the most popular. If Grav is over 100, it means it is popular. High it is bigger the popularity is. And if the percentage is high, this is good because it means that most of the sales are made by affiliates.

In you ideas, select the one that combines both, gravity and %. A lower gravity does not means that the product ain’t good, it is just not as popular. Now you have your niche to start your blog with.
